What should I do? When you have menopausal symptoms
Menopause is a phrase and the age that many people would not like to be but anyway, nobody could escape this. So, everyone should get to know what menopause is and prepare yourself for it, so you can be as healthy both physically and mentally as possible.
What is menopause?
Menopause is the period that the body has lowering testosterone(sex hormones) , especially in women that decrease dramatically. It causes expression of menopause that is shown significantly and aggressively but the symptoms can occur in both men and women. It occurs a year after the average age of 45-50 years old or over and Men’s menopause starts in the age 50-50 years. The reason that men’s menopause is delayed is because the decrease of male testosterone happens gradually, so the symptoms are not clear and aggressive.
What symptoms being a sign of menopause
1.Burning sensation, suddenly feel hot in the body. This symptom is being called medically as “Vasomotor Symptom ”. It often occurs on the chest, back and it will spread to the face, which might be the cause of sweating. The symptoms occur in a while and will disappear, it can happen either at day or night.
2. oftenly wake up during the night, feel hot after waking up even though the weather is not hot and sweating, which causes insomnia.
3.The mood is more swinging than usual, which might divide into 2 kinds : Irritating, aggressive and depressed, lonely, bored, feeling low on themself and not wanting to socialize.
4. Other symptoms resulting from decrease of testosterone such as thinned bone , skin being dried easily, falling hairs, vaginal dryness causing hurting with having sex or those who have vaginal dryness will follow symptoms of pain and itching.
How it can be treat when menopause is get more severe
Due to menopause is not a disease but it is the period that can be happened to everyone, so treatment of menopause will be “treatment by symptoms”, which can be divided into 2 types : Hormonal treatment and non-hormonal by :
1. Non-hormonal menopause treatment
First, doctors will be talking to the patient in the way of psychotherapy , in those who have insomnia to let the patient express the eeriness and stress from mood swings. If it does not work, then there will be consideration of using vitamin and amino acid in aiding better sleeping, calming and not irritating. For those who have a burning sensation, the doctor will consider using remedy herbs with FDA registration to help in soothing the burn sensation and even though that is a herb, it is also being used under doctor’s order because it has effect on the liver and other parts of the body. Moreover, the doctor also has a recommendation to do it with habits changing such as doingpsychotherapy , adjusting the efficient sleep environment, preparing for sleeping at least an hour by avoiding using a phone and other activities that are not lying on the bed, etc.
2. Hormonal treatment
Generally, doctors don’t choose this method as the first option because overuse of hormones is risking causing many types of tumor in women, including the chance of clogged arteries , but if found that the patient has severe menopause and during 2-3 months of non-hormonal treatment but not being cured, so the doctors will choose the hormonal treatment. However, before using hormones, it will have to do various screenings thoroughly such as screening for breast cancer, tumor, abdominal and ovary ultrasound to evaluate the risk of using hormones.
Preparing yourself before menopause has come
Due to that in the menopause period is a period that testosterone dramatically decreases, causing the function of body work not as efficient as before. So before entering the menopause age, it is recommended to visit the doctor for consultation and understand it, especially in women before the menstruation is over or 2-3 times per month of menstruation in the period of late 40 years old. When the menopause is coming, a well-prepared body will have less severity, making for a better quality of life and more happiness.
Even though everyone cannot avoid menopause, it will be in our body for only 3-5 years. If you can take care of your body well and correctly, the symptoms of menopause will gradually disappear. Appearing yourself well is important for you to not suffer from the symptoms and also reduce the risk of complications.
