Reclaiming the quality of life for little ones. How to care for children's health in the New Normal era.

New Normal is a new way of life that not only adults have to adapt to, but children also have to adapt as well because Covid-19 has taken away important moments for all of us as well. Therefore, in this article, we will take fathers, mothers, or parents to look at ways to care for children to have good physical and mental health with today's new way of life.

 

1.Keep as much the same daily life activities as possible

          Although social distance causes us and children not to leave the home, not going to the workplace or school as they should. But for the kids, we should keep daily life activities as the same as possible even if we are leaving the home such as eating or sleeping at the same time also, usually taking care of the kids to be healthy. 

 

2.Understand the development in period of age

          Even Though everyone is affected by it, the effects in each period are different. If parents know what period the kid of your protection is in and try to understand the nature of that period is the most beneficial to the kids. Like babies or kids before school age would have some outdoor activities, if there's an area around your home, you should recommend them to do some indoor activities. Also, Kids in this age have their own thoughts, they acknowledge the change that they can’t leave the home as before, so the parents should pay attention and listen to them more. Or elementary school kids would have more logic, and need to be socialized. 

 

3.Know to observing the kid’s stress

          Stress in kids would have different ways to express them. Toddlers would have expressions such as withdrawal or dislike of what they liked, not playing or eating what they liked. Besides that, they would be frightened, have anxiety, and ask questions to an adult repeatedly. While pre-teen would easily be irritated, some of them expressed it by the symptoms of headache or stomach ache.

 

4.Have children receive all immunizations to their age.

          Vaccines in the first age that is 0-1 year are the common vaccines that should take the kids to be taken completely. Such as diphtheria , tetanus, pertussis and polio prevention vaccines in the period of 2 months, 4 months and 6 months. In the period of 9 months there will be a dose of each rubella and mumps , Then after a year, there will be a dose of Japanese encephalitis vaccine. These diseases are often found in kids more than adults. If the kids have taken all the immunizations, it's oftenly efficient for disease prevention. 

 

5.If the kids are sick, how long should it take before visiting the doctor

          Usually, a fever will recover within 3-5 days depending on the factor, the main factor is often caused by the infection from a virus. Some kids might have low appetite, hardly eat until the body lacks water and nutrients or have a fever that decreases more slowly than usual. If the kids have fever longer than 3 days, it is recommended to take them to check their health with the doctor thoroughly.
